Ledarskap inom kommunala och statliga verksamheter bedrivs i offentlighetens ljus, under demokratisk styrning, med medborgarnas intresse och personalens ambitioner. Chefer i offentliga verksamheter behöver förutom yrkes- och ledarkompetens även metoder och verktyg som tar hänsyn till den offentliga sektorns särart.
Göteborgs universitet erbjuder därför ett komplett utbildningsprogram för chefer i offentlig verksamhet. Det har till stora delar utvecklats och prövats i samarbete med Västra Götalandsregionen med koppling till regionens eget chefsutvecklingsprogram.
Kurserna ges av Göteborgs universitets olika fakulteter och sammankallande och ansvarig för administrationen och informationen för hela programmet är Handelshögskolan, en av Göteborgs universitets största fakulteter.
